    The Language of Luxury, Service and Serenity

     

    The Line Cook will work with the Executive Chef and the culinary team to create an extraordinary dining experience for Outlets and Banquets areas that exceeds our guests' expectations.  The Line Cook will prepare menu items in a timely and consistent manner while adhering to health codes, hotel and LHW standards.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare required entrees and food items while demonstrating great work ethics, pride and creativity 
    • Take precautions to prevent food spoilage or loss of product
    • Maintain knowledge of daily and special menu items and recipes
    • Follow directions of Executive Chef to maintain consistency in taste and presentation
    • Follow recipes, focusing  on consistent presentation and taste, according to LHW and Hotel Granduca standards
    • Ensure that all conducted training of food preparations, hygiene and grooming standards is understood and followed
    • Check food storage areas and refrigerators for cleanliness and proper functioning and report any discrepancies or malfunction to manager
    • Ensure that all food andmenu items are prepared according to hotel and sanitation standards and guidelines
    • Ensure constant rotation of all products in the kitchens
    • Pay attention to details regarding temperature and presentation of product
    • Ensure compliance of all OSHA, health, Federal and State regulations
    • Actively participate in all training activities and meetings
    • Maintain proper hygiene and hotel's Standards of Appearance
    • Practice the Hotel Core Values and 3 Steps of Service
    • Maintain a professional and cordial demeanor that exemplifies the standards and culture of Hotel Granduca
    • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or related college coursework 
    • Minimum one year related experience in a luxury or full-service hotel
    • ServSafe or Food Handler's certificate required
    • Experience in baking, broiling, frying, steaming, braising and sautéing
    • Must be familiar with different garnishes for attractive presentation
    • Ability to withstand hot and cold temperatures
    • Demonstrate excellent command of English, verbal and written
    • Ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions
    • Bilingual  - English and Spanish - preferred
    • Must be able to push, carry up to 50 pounds
    • Must possess a calm, cordial and professional demeanor
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail and presentation
    • Ability to multi-task and remain calm during busy times
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Ability to stand, bend, lift, stretch, reach up to 2 feet, use hands, for long periods
    • Ability to taste and smell, see and hear
    • Must be able to work any shift, including evenings, weekends and holidays
