    The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the hotel with regards to safety, mechanics, physical structure and general aesthetics of the building.

    • Perform basic repairs, installations and replacements in the hotel in a timely manner
    • Install and replace fixtures or other key items to ensure the proper and efficient operation of the hotel and guest rooms
    • Assist other departments in the application of the preventive maintenance program
    • Maintain a cordial, professional, neat and organized appearance according to LHW and Hotel Granduca standards

    • Perform scheduled maintenance of the pool and other areas of the hotel and grounds
    • Inspect the grounds, remove debris, trash and perfom basic landscaping duties as required
    • Assist Loss Prevention or other departments with operational and safety issues including Fire Safety/Alarm
    • Assist with Lock Interrogation of guest room doors and repairing safes in guest rooms
    • Adhere to OSHA regulations, applicable State and Federal laws and hotel policies
    • Conduct daily inpection of interior and exterior of the building and immediately make necessary repairs
    • Immediately report or resolve mechanical, structural or safety issues in the hotel
    • Perform scheduled inspection of filters and replace as required
    • Communicate with Houskeeping and Front Office to ensure guest rooms are in a safe and immaculate condition
    • Assist with the set up and operation of audio/video systems
    • Paint walls or specific areas throughout hotel to maintain aesthetics of the building
      • Prepare and paint surfaces, walls, furnitures and equipment using proper application techniques and appropriate tools to create a perfect finish
      • Determine quantity and types of paint or finish appropriate for specific surfaces
      • Apply paint to all building and equipment surfaces with brushes, rollers and spray guns
      • Intall and repair covered wall and ceiling surfaces throughout the facility
      • Hang vinyl, paper, fabric and foil wall coverings of various weights
      • Maintain and repair caulked, grouted and masonry surfaces throughout the facility
      • Prepare and maintain wood sufaces requiring staining, varnishing and lacquering
    • Perform basic plumbing, mechanical and carpentry functions as required
    • Assist with cutting and re-programming keys for hotel and guest rooms
    • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe environment and work area
    • Perform other duties as assigned



    • High School Diploma or equivalent 
    • At least 2 years' experience in basic maintenance duties including painting, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry in a full service or hospitality environment required
    • Must demonstrate a courteous and professional demeanor towards internal and external guests
    • Must be available to work required shifts - overnight, days, evenings, holidays, weekends
    • Experience with creating special finishes and methods of application
    • Ability to color match and determine the proper treatment and finish
    • Experience in painting, touch-ups and wall covering techniques for small and large areas 
    • Experience in use of different tools and equipment required to create the perfect finish according to hotel standards
    • Experience in use of rollers, brushes and sprayers
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with internal, external guests and vendors
    • Excellent command and comprehension of English and ability to follow instructions
    • Good time management and basic computer skills
    • Must be detail-oriented and possess a sense of pride in completed job
    • Ability to multi-task effectively while focusing on providing the perfect guest experience
