Position Overview:

 

The full time Loss Prevention Guard is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the hotel and guests.

Responsibilities

  • Handles deliveries and shipments to and from the hotel
  • Logs and delivers packages to guests in a timely manner
  • Works with HR to conduct investigations in a professional manner, while maintaining confidentiality
  • Documents and organizes all Lost & Found items and monitors retention time
  • Maintains confidentiality of all reports and releases information only to authorized individuals
  • Conducts patrol of hotel and area at designated times throughout shift
  • Monitors vehicle parking and assists valet as needed
  • Identifies and reports all unsafe issues, incidents and losses to management
  • Completes and logs daily incidents and events
  • Monitors surveillance cameras and investigates unusual or suspicious activities
  • Escorts guests to designated areas and assists with key entry
  • Maintains accurate key control logs and distribute keys to authorized employees
  • Collaborates with Engineering on evacuation procedures during fire drills or natural disasters
  • Conducts fire drills as required
  • Participates in monthly Safety meetings
  • Conducts Safety briefings as requested at events and meetings
  • Assists HR with compliance of all OSHA, F/S, and TABC regulations
  • Adheres to the Daily Core Values and 3 Steps of service
  • Conducts locker and bag checks as required
  • Documents and reports all W/C related cases to HR in a timely manner
  • Administer 1st Aid/CPR to injured guests or employees, as allowed per certification
  • Locks and unlocks room, doors and gates at designated times
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma required
  • At least 1 year related experience in a full service hotel or hospitality environment
  • Must possess excellent command and comprehension of English - verbal and written
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred
  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft office  - Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, required
  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external guests
  • Maintain a positive, pleasant and professional demeanor at all times
  • Must be able to remain calm and focused in all situations
  • Must be 1st Aid/CPR certified
  • Able to lift, push, pull, carry at least 50 lbs
  • Demonstrate a professional and cordial demeanor
  • Must be able to walk, stand for long periods, sit, bend, crouch, run, reach up to 12 inches
  • Must be able to work all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays based on business demands
