The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the hotel with regards to safety, mechanics, physical structure and general aesthetics of the building.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic repairs, installations and replacements in the hotel in a timely manner
  • Install and replace fixtures or other key items to ensure the proper and efficient operation of the hotel and guest rooms
  • Assist other departments in the application of the preventive maintenance program
  • Maintain a professional, neat and organized appearance according to Hotel Granduca standards

  • Must be able to work primarily PM shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Perform scheduled maintenance of the pool and area 
  • Inspect the grounds, remove debris, trash and perfom basic landscaping duties as required
  • Assist Loss Prevention or other departments with operational and safety issues including Fire Safety/Alarm
  • Assist with Lock Interrogation of guest room doors and repairing safes in guest rooms
  • Adhere to OSHA regulations, applicable State and Federal laws and hotel policies
  • Conduct daily inpection of interior and exterior of the building and immediately make necessary repairs
  • Immediately report or resolve mechanical, structural or safety issues in the hotel
  • Perform scheduled inspection of filters and replace as required
  • Collaborate with Houskeeping and Front Office to ensure guest rooms are in a safe and immaculate condition
  • Assist Banquets team with the set up and operation of audio/video systems
  • Paint walls or specific areas throughout hotel to maintain aesthetics of the building
  • Perform basic plumbing, mechanical and carpentry functions as required
  • Assist with cutting and re-programming keys for hotel and guest rooms
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe environment and work area
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 2 years' experience in basic maintenance duties including electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry in a full service or hospitality environment required
  • Must demonstrate a courteous and professional demeanor towards internal and external guests
  • Must be available to work any shifts as required, including PM, weekends and holidays based on business needs
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with internal, external guests and vendors
  • Excellent command and comprehension of English and ability to follow instructions required
  • Good time management skills and basic computer skills required
  • Must be detail-oriented and have experience in painting large and small areas
