The steward is responsible for the cleanliness of China, Glass and Silver and F&B Equipment while adhering to sanitation practices in accordance with required regulations and established hotel Granduca standards.

 

To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to help enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned tasks timely and efficiently to provide the departments with the equipment and utensils required for each department
  • Follows the proper procedures when operating the dish machine, three department sink or cleaning F&B equipment
  • Handle china, glass, silver and equipment in a careful manner to prevent or minimize breakage
  • Clean and sanitize the culinary and F&B area as directed
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work area
  • Adhere to all Food Handler's OSHA and Sanitation regulations as required
  • Retrieve dirty dishes and utensils from F&B and cafeteria areas and transport to steward department
  • Must maintain a professional, neat and organized appearance according to Hotel Granduca standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

 

Qualifications

  • Hotel or restaurant stewarding experience preferred
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent

  • Prior experience in a full service hotel or hospitality environment preferred

  • Must be able to push, pull, carry up to 35 lbs
  • Must possess clear, concise written and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate professionally and effectively with guests and co-worksers
  • Must be able to understand and follow instructions
  • Must demonstrate a friendly and courteous demeanor
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays
