The General Manager sets the strategic direction and management of the hotel to maximize performance, profitability and return on investment as well as guest and team member satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain ongoing communication with ownership to exceed the owners' expectations
  • Recruit and develop leaders who demonstrate strong functional expertise, creativity and entrepreneurial leadership skills to meet the business needs of the operation
  • Sets goals and expectations for direct reports
  • Ensure the development and execution of strategic sales and marketing initiatives
  • Structure a financially sound and accurate Business Plan 
  • Facilitate the preparation and revision of hotel budgets and forecast for corporate submission and approvals 
  • Establish financial targets with Senior Management team and provide updates on financial status
  • Implement capital expenditure decisions in line with business performance
  • Ensure accurate forecasting, predicting potential highs and lows in business and initiate changes and analyze variances
  • Manage cash flow, assets and costs to optimize profit conversion and deliver against the plan 
  • Oversee the sales and marketing activity and results, conduct or participate in sales and marketing strategy and revenue meetings
  • Monitor sales goals and strategies to ensure alignment with positioning and pricing
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with key revenue producing clients and organizations within the local community
  • Ensure compliance with LHW standards and define expectations to exceed audit requirements
  • Participate in daily Operations meetings to ensure strong and sustained interdepartmental communications, problem resolution and consistent guest satisfaction
  • Ensure service and product consistently reflect the standards of Granduca Hotel
  • Foster employee engagement to provide excellent service
  • Maintain an "Open Door" policy and work with HR to improve employee satisfaction and increase morale
  • Work with leaders to enforce the hotel's mission, vision, Daily Core Values and 3 Steps of Service
  • Utilize guest feedback to establish long-term improvements in products and services 
  • Review the STR report, competitive shopping reports and using other resources to maintain an awareness of the property’s market position
  • Conduct weekly management meetings and daily reviews with Engineering and Housekeeping department
  • Strategize with F&B department to ensure maximum profitability
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years' experience as a General Manager in a full service hotel preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a leadership role in Operations and/or Sales
  • College degree required
  • Proven track record as an effective leader 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft programs; Word, Excel, Power point
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to articulate and execute plans and actions to achieve the required results
  • Excellent command of English and the ability to effectively communicate to internal and external guests, vendors, clients and ownership
